Adam Cooper

Adam joined 3e Consulting Engineers in May 2013 and become Director in October 2015.  He is responsible for managing and delivering geo environmental assessments for a variety of sectors of development including; retail, residential, educational, industrial and leisure developments.  Many of these projects have been seen through from conception and pre planning stage, through to final completion and handover.

Adam has over 15 years' experience liasing with regulators and project teams to provide cost effecting foundation design and remediation works. He has a broad experience of the construction sectors and has been involved in many and varied projects where land contamination, mine workings and site remediation have been key elements to the successful redevelopment of brownfield sites including works, foundries, armaments factories and chemical works.

Anthony Armitage

Chartered Engineer, BEng CEng MICE

Anthony joined 3e Consulting Engineers in October 2014 and became a Director in September 2015. As a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years engineering experience Anthony has developed a good commercial understanding of the construction industry.

He has experience in delivering projects of various sizes from small classroom extensions through to large retail and leisure facilities, and has worked with a variety of different public and private clients including Nestlé, Asda, BUPA, Wakefield MBC, University of Leeds, Outwood Grange Academies Trust and Transport for Greater Manchester. 

Anthony has detailed knowledge of working to tight programmes whilst helping to ensuring that facilities can remain in use during the construction period with little disrupton as possible.

Dean Gray

Director - Newcastle Office

Dean has over 20 years experience in the industry and began his career in 1997 as a Structural Technician for HJT.  He graduated from Newcastle University in 2004 and joined 3e Consulting Engineers in 2005 as a Project Engineer when the Newcastle office opened.

Dean is a Structural Engineer and has gained wide experience delivering schemes mainly in the retail, commercial and residential sector.  He has a 'hands on' approach to his projects and is very Client focused and commercially aware.

Steve Watson

Director - Newcastle Office
BEng(Hons) CEng MIStructE

Steve has worked in the industry for 25 years, following his graduation from Newcastle University, with a first class honours degree. After joining Cundall Johnson as a graduate Engineer in 1988 he has worked in increasingly senior roles at HJT and WSP. He joined 3e in 2006 as an Associate, becoming a Director of the practice in April 2011.

Steve is a Chartered Engineer and has gained wide experience delivering schemes across the industrial, commercial and retail sectors. Although Steve is still very much involved in the ‘day to day’ running of projects he is now developing his role on the management side of the business. To ensure the continual success of the business Steve is keen to export 3e’s expertise to all areas of the UK as well as foreign markets.

Neil Barrett

Technical Director - London
BEng (Hons)

Neil graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2005 with a first-class degree in Civil and Structural Engineering.

His career commenced at WSP Newcastle, and a few years later joined 3e as a Project Engineer, where he worked a broad range of developments including the iconic and award-winning Northumbrian Police Headquarters.

Neil later moved to London where he spent over 8 years at Conisbee, joining as a Senior Engineer and progressed to an Associate Director, where he ran a structural team of 12.  Through this, he gained significant experience in the design and delivery of concrete frames, basements, and dealing with complex sites, constrained by 3rd party assets such as under-ground and above-ground rail, listed buildings, party wall issues and subterranean infrastructure. He was also project lead on a number of projects in the Education sector, as well as Commercial and Healthcare.

Neil re-joined 3e mid 2018 as a Technical Director, heading up the London Office.
