Marlborough Street, Bristol

Project value £13.5m

City centre student accommodation as part of the redevelopment of the bus station on Marlborough Street in Bristol.

Built on top of the existing bus station, work commenced on site in June 2008 on the superstructure new building, in light gauge steel framed panel construction. The lower basement up to 1st floor level was constructed from traditional reinforced concrete. Each panel is supported on load bearing wall panels fabricated from cold formed sections. This system allows external cladding and windows to be installed on the panels off site and reduces on site time.

The 11 storey building contains 361 bed spaces along with social hubs, laundry and a building management office.
