The works were carried out to an existing store, which was previously a Safeway store, involving extensions of the store retail space, the warehouse area and the existing car parking.
3e carried out ground investigation works on the site. To minimise disruption to the trading of the store, initially the car park extension was carried out to cater for the reduction of available spaces during the construction works. Works were phased to allow full operation of the store during construction works and sequential handover of retail departments. The warehouse phase of the extension works were completed and handed over prior to completion of all the retail areas.
The retail extension was to the front of the store which included a new entrance and handing of the internal layout. The gross area of the extensions are approx 22,000 ft2 and an additional 79 car parking spaces are proposed.
