Development on land close to Newcastle United’s St James Park.  The 9 storey building  includes 332 bed student accommodation with associated student hub/communal areas to the ground floor and basement. 

The building is a mixed reinforced concrete/steel framed construction to create a level of transfer deck.  This supports a lightweight steel frame/concrete floor construction to the upper levels for the apartments.

At the southern end of the site the foundations were constructed in close proximity to the Metro Line and vent shaft tunnels.  This required agreement of the final design solution with Nexus together with an agreed scope of tunnel monitoring during progress of the foundation and building works
