Redevelopment of the former ‘Rocket Site’ which has dominated the Tyneside skyline for four decades before the complex process of the demolition of the 29 storey Derwent Tower began in 2011.

The tower has been replaced by 45 residential properties, with associated private gardens, car parking and community areas.  The redevelopment also contains a new medical centre and new retail units for Aldi Stores Ltd and Boots, pharmacy

3e were appointed to carry out a Phase II Geo-Environmental Assessment of the site along with Civil and structural which included:-

  • Flood Risk Assessment
  • Road and sewer design
  • External levels
  • Plot drainage
  • Foundation design
  • Steelwork design for pharmacy Structural design and detailing for residential and retail development
