3e provided detailed Civil, Structural & Geotechnical design for a new 3/4 storey office block consisting of first-class, contemporary managed offices.  Based at the Commissioners Quay Site at Port of Blyth to attract businesses within the energy sector.

The building was designed as a steel frame supporting pre-cast concrete flooring with exposed concrete soffits with a total floor space of around 30,000 sq. ft.

Designed with particular emphasis on sustainability and low energy use. This has been achieved by the use of high levels of insulation with a low air tightness limit to achieve the required low energy building.

Low carbon technologies have been investigated and the selected design incorporates ground source heat pumps to provide the building’s heating and cooling with the lowest possible energy use
