3e was involved in the conceptual design, development and subsequent expansion of the Springfields Outlet Shopping and Festival Gardens venue in Spalding, Lincolnshire.
The extensions were completed in 2008 and involved alterations to form an eastern mall access to ten new single storey steel-framed retail units, with a
two storey timber-framed 43 bedroom Travelodge hotel above.
To counter the effects of the high water table and soft ground, 3e was required to design specialist foundations along with external walls, ground slabs, foul drainage, external works, pavements and other structures including a windmill!
