3e have worked in Bristol, Sheffield and Newcastle to create more student accommodation for the growing student populations in these cities. In Bristol, 3e worked with Watkin Jones Developments on 393 student units utilising an innovative modular construction solution which enabled off site assembly of external cladding and windows, reducing on site time.
Working with Keyhaven Developments in Sheffield, 3e has worked on the redevelopment of a property for the Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind (SRSB). This £6 million development will provide SRSB with state of the art facilities over two floors with six floors of student accommodation.
Across Newcastle upon Tyne over 4500 student bed spaces are required to meet the growing number of students and 3e is involved with three separate projects in the City. One of these, Portland Green, on the site of the former Akzo Nobel factory in Shieldfield embraces sustainable technologies to reduce its environmental impact, incorporating solar energy collectors and a living green wall. Newbridge Street, Newcastle was recently completed in 2011 and houses over 400 students in two separate four to five storey blocks.
