Newcastle College
3e is working with Newcastle College on its multi million pound campus investment programme.
A new Sixth Form Academy is proposed and will provide an additional facility for Newcastle College, with a basement sports hall and approximately 12,000m2 of teaching/learning space and staff/support areas to meet the needs of 2,000 students.
The 1960’s Sandyford Building was completely re-clad externally and modified internally to provide state of the art teaching, conference and study facilities and included “real working environments” at ground floor; including a café, hair salon, art gallery and florist.
3e are also currently involved in the complete recladding of an existing portal framed structure and provision of a new steel framed mezzanine floor to create a new teaching facility for Newcastle College. The building will include workshops and teaching areas for a Renewable Energies Academy.
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Completed: Sandyford Building 2007 Six Form Academy ongoing 2011
