John Myers Retires
After 49 years in the industry, John Myers retired from 3e at the end of March 2017. The remaining Directors in the Newcastle Office, Steve Watson and Dean Gray will continue to drive the business forward delivering the Fresh, Effective Solutions, with the ‘personal touch’ that 3e is built upon. This is owed greatly to the help of its committed and experienced staff.
3e Newcastle Office was set up by John in October 2004, with 3 former HJT colleagues, Andy Pearson, Melvyn Risbin and Stan Collabella, who had established a 3e Leeds office in early 2002, together with the considerable assistance of Adrian Batey and many former HJT colleagues, including Dean and Steve who joined shortly afterwards. In 2011 Steve became a Director as part of 3e’s succession plan and he was joined by Dean in 2015.
John took immense pride and satisfaction in the development of the 3e Team in Newcastle and delivered a number of prestigious projects since 2004, including the remediation and re-development of the former Neptune Yard, redevelopment of Parsons Tower and the New 6th Form Block for Newcastle College, Headquarters for Northumbria and Durham Police and the Design Centre for the North to name but a few.
John says “I have made many friends over the years with many experiences that I cherish, however, I am looking forward to retirement to enable me to spend more time on my hobbies which include gardening, family history research as well as supporting Newcastle United”.
The Directors and staff of 3e wish John a long and happy retirement.
