The project comprises new 1800 sq.m single storey Autism School with design recognising specific requirements for children incorporating wide corridors, open plan dining area, class rooms and supporting admin spaces.
The structure comprises a steel portal frame with rendered masonry external walls. In addition the existing buildings on the site comprising admin, gym and swimming pool were refurbished and extended as required providing both community services functions and small residential units.
The existing structure comprises a 1 and 2 storey load bearing masonry building with alterations comprising the enlargement of internal spaces, construction of new internal ramps, extending existing openings and the construction of a new entrance area, including the provision for new staircase and lift.
After 49 years in the industry, John Myers retired from 3e at the end of March 2017. The remaining Directors in the Newcastle Office, Steve Watson and Dean Gray will continue to drive the business forward delivering the Fresh, Effective Solutions, with the ‘personal touch’ that 3e is built upon.
